to help to focus your learners’ attention, and it can record ideas from
discussions and keep for future reference.
Although these materials can be bought in any
educational suppliers, it is a very simple matter to make your own materials.
All you need is to be creative, patience to do the materials, and be idealistic
to what you are directing about the concepts you’re trying to portray.
At present, charts, posters and similar flat
displays have still place in learning process. Though we are known in the new
technological age where computer plays important role in learning process, there
are still some teachers who believe in the power of non-projected displays like
these in better learning.
ADVANTAGE AND
DISADVANTAGES OF NON-PROJECTED DISPLAY
Traditional teaching tools like felt boards/
flannel board, hook-and-loop board, and magnetic boards and other non-projected
teaching aids are little by little replaced with computers and other digital
gadgets. Some schools are equipped with hi-technology facilities. Instead of using felt board/ flannel board
that the engage the students in the subject matter, the teacher might use the
SMART board to add music, text and interactive components to the story and
lesson. For instance, a high school chemistry teacher might use the boards to
explain the periodic table of elements with the help of PowerPoint, they’re

Using technology in today’s
